SFIA’s 2023 Topline Participation Report features data from the largest single source sports, fitness, and leisure activity participation study in the country, tracking participation, tracking 124 sports, recreation, and fitness activities. This is the industry’s essential reference document for sports participation.
The 2023 report shows that participation continued to recover from the large drop it sustained due to the pandemic, with rates just under 2019 levels. The number of Americans engaged in physical activity grew for the fifth straight year, and reflects a fundamental and lasting appreciation for the benefits of physical activity that heightened during the forced isolation of the pandemic.
