An important part of SFIA’s mission is to support our membership through programs and strategies that increase sports participation and influence public policy. Our Signature Programs reflect that commitment in several ways: by calling attention to volunteerism in grassroots sports; by sharing with our nation’s legislators the robust assortment of products that characterize our industry; by focusing the spotlight on legislators themselves as they engage in a friendly footrace; and by engaging manufacturers, educators and retailers in lobbying efforts that will benefit sports across the board.
Article 1: Collection of Personal Information from Site Visitors
SFIA.org automatically collects and/or tracks (1) the e-mail addresses of visitors that communicate with SFIA.org via e-mail, post messages to SFIA.org’s bulletin boards, or post messages to SFIA.org’s chat groups, (2) information such as financial or demographic information, knowingly provided by the visitor in online forms, registration forms, surveys, and contest entries, and (3) information, either in the aggregate or user-specific, on what pages visitors access.
Article 2. Use of Personal Data Collected
SFIA.org uses personal data for editorial and feedback purposes, marketing and promotional purposes, statistical analyzes of user’s behavior, product development, content improvement, to inform advertisers about how many visitors have seen or clicked their advertisements, and to customize content and layout of SFIA.org’s site. Names, postal and e-mail addresses, and phone numbers may be added to SFIA.org’s databases and used for future e-mails, calls, and mailings regarding site updates, new products and services, upcoming events, and status of orders placed online. Financial information may be used to check the user’s qualifications for registration and to bill the user for products and services. Demographic and profile data is used to tailor the visitor’s experience at our site.
Article 3. Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties
SFIA.org reserves the right to post collected data on SFIA.org’s website, or share, rent, sell, or otherwise disclose data to third parties. Any third party to which SFIA.org shares, rents, sells, or otherwise discloses personal data is carefully pre-screened by SFIA.org, determined to be reputable, and will use the personal data for marketing products and services which SFIA.org determines, in its sole judgment, that visitors might find of interest. SFIA.org will disclose to third parties only information knowingly and voluntarily disclosed by visitors, or information in aggregate form.
Article 4. Opt-Out Right
Users can opt-out of receiving communications from us and our partners. Users may remove their information from our database by sending an e-mail to [email protected].
Article 5. Access to and Ability to Correct Personal Data3. Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties
Upon request, SFIA.org will provide a summary of any personal information retained by SFIA.org. SFIA.org will only send personal records to the e-mail address on file for the visitor name associated with it. Visitors may modify, correct, change, or remove their personal record from SFIA.org’s database.
Article 6. Collection of Personal Data from Children
The information and services provided at SFIA.org’s Web site by SFIA.org, its affiliates, sponsors, and advertisers are intended to be of general interest and all pages are appropriate to be viewed by children under 13 years old. SFIA.org will not, however, knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age without prior parental consent. Without prior parental consent, online information will only be used to respond directly to the child’s request. No information collected from children is knowingly used for any marketing or promotional purposes whatsoever, either inside or outside SFIA.org.
