SFIA Webinar Series

Throughout the year, SFIA hosts webinars to provide attendees access to timely expertise and interactive guidance to address pressing industry challenges.

SFIA Webinars are FREE for members and $259 for non-members. Each webinar is 30-45 minutes of a presentation, followed by live Q&A. Recordings of each webinar and contact information are provided free for members, and to non-members who registered. Slide decks will be provided if applicable.

The presentation aims to provide a high-level scientific and legal overview of key PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) laws with a particular focus on California, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. The presentation will also discuss how Proposition 65 defense is changing how companies are looking at PFAS testing and discussions related to potential litigation. Emphasizing regulations relevant to the sporting goods industry, including apparel, textiles, footwear, children’s products, and outdoor furnishings, the presentation will cover best practices for supply chain compliance, proper legal documentation, and litigation trends regarding PFAS. The scientific analysis will emphasize testing methodologies for PFAS in consumer products, exploring various approaches to meet specific needs and ensure regulatory compliance. We will also offer insights into Proposition 65 compliance for PFAS, and provide guidance on product stewardship programs for companies managing chemical compliance across diverse product lines in the sporting goods industry.

August 1: Supply Chain Disruptions, Due Diligence and Crisis Management

Thursday, August 1: 2 p.m. ET

Global businesses continue to face major supply chain disruptions as a result of strict enforcement of new laws (human rights/forced labor) and shipping delays caused by conflicts and the threat of port labor disruptions at East & Gulf Coast Ports this fall. Failure to comply with these laws or navigate shipping delays can cause economic harm, catastrophic business disruptions and are a PR nightmare. This webinar is intended to help companies minimize risks and avoid the harms caused by these supply chain disruptions, including such topics as:

Enforcement of New Laws — Human rights/forced labor
·  Summary of applicable laws (e.g., UFLPA, Canada’s Forced Labor Bill, EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive)
