representing the industry
Convening volleyball manufacturers, industry coalitions, and governing bodies.
SFIA’s Volleyball Council was re-formed in 2011 at the urging of the industry, with the mission to gather volleyball manufacturers, industry coalitions, and governing bodies to discuss the current landscape of volleyball, and how to grow the sport in the future. The group meets annually at the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Convention and when necessary.
The 2023 Volleyball Council Meeting will take place on April 17 as part of the SFIA/NFHS/NCAA Scholastic Team Sports Conference, taking place at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Indianapolis.
Research: SFIA conducts research on beach/sand, court, and grass volleyball participation, as well as industry sales information trends. As the leader in sports participation research, SFIA helps council members understand trend lines and compares volleyball data to similar team sports.
NGB Updates: Receive updates directly from NGBs like the National Federation of State High School Associations, NCAA, USA Volleyball, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Council members are also the first to hear about any changes in volleyball rules or standards.
National Mediation: SFIA serves as a mediator on issues between manufacturers and the National Federation of State High School Associations, NCAA, NOCSAE, ASTM, SEI, and other national standards bodies.
