COuncil SERVICES:
Annual Meeting: The USGMC meets annually at the PGA Show. The group discusses the golf industry’s progress in growing the game and on new and existing challenges for the industry, with a focus on equipment issues of importance to manufacturers.
Anti-Counterfeiting: The USGMC anti-counterfeiting program is the industry’s gold standard in confiscating fake golf products at the source in China. Working on the ground with local authorities, the USGMC preserves brand equity through coordinated raids with Chinese officials.
Equipment Rules: The USGMC hosts the USGA and the R&A at its annual meeting for an open-ended discussion on current and potential equipment rules changes, the research used to develop new rules, and to request compliance with industry protocol on transparency in the rules process.
Lower Tariffs on Golf Equipment: The USGMC pursues policies to lower the financial barrier to golf. The USGMC was successful in getting millions of dollars in tariff relief on golf products and seeks additional relief from a more transparent Section 301 Tariff Exclusion process.
Protect and Grow the Game: The USGMC works with partners in the golf industry to ensure fair treatment of golf in federal policies and protects courses from unreasonable regulations. USGMC leads the industry effort to lower the cost of golf through health-related tax incentives to encourage a more active and healthier America.
